The King has a “no nonsense” approach to the joust as he stands straight next to his queen….proudly showing her crown and allegiance. All the men are solid and determined. But none matches the knight in this wonderful ebony set of pieces. Notice the tilt of his head, straining at the reins, ears perked and ready to defend his kingdom.
