Double weighted and King at a lofty 5.5 inches. Well, if ya can’t build out – build up! It worked for New York huh? With its weighting and height the King chess piece sets the standard in this fret style set. The weighting is good (double) and is the difference between more economical chess pieces and this fine set of Globe Fret double weighted chess pieces. Many sets that have this kind of detail have no weighting, which is admittedly difficult for this kind of base. But we insisted that weighting be a part of the design and so double weighted it is! The board for this set should be 1.75 inch squares.
